Some people don’t go for the no date because they feel that they need a date on their watch, however, I already have a few watches with no date so I know I won’t miss it. Thanks! Gee, Rolex don’t say No Date how intriguing lol So, if you look at the dial it actually says Oyster Perpetual Date, then way below that it just says Submariner, just like the no date version. The date version is the Sub imagined by the vast majority when they hear the word, hence it makes much more sense to say Sub and no date Sub. Posts: 351. I think Rolex did a tremendous service by increasing the no-date models when they added the OP line. Prior to, most people had two realistic options - Explorer and sub (one look and model) as the Daytona was relatively expensive and unavailable. I think people are now more accepting of no-date models. Thanks!
